Lifechanyuan Thailand Home: 3-Day Living Experience October 14–17, 2025 | Chiang Mai, Thailand •••••••••••••••••••••••• By Xilian •••••••••••••••••••••••• From October 14–17, the Lifechanyuan Thailand Home hosted a three-day stay-in experience, offering participants a firsthand glimpse of the Lifechanyuan Home Model — a harmonious and alternative way of living that transcends conventional lifestyles. Planned two months in advance, the event concluded with the joyful arrival of five participants on the final day — two from Nepal, one from Portugal (who also served as a videographer), one from Mongolia, and one from China — each bringing their own unique energy, stories, and curiosity about the Lifechanyuan way of life.
In light of Thailand Home’s recent decline in members, this gathering was envisioned as an initiative to revitalise community spirit and connection. Through shared living, joyful collaboration, and open dialogue, participants were invited to experience the essence of Lifechanyuan’s values and principles.
Throughout the stay, laughter and warmth filled the home. Participants took part in daily community life — preparing meals together, tending the gardens, sharing songs, and exchanging stories from their diverse homelands. Despite differences in language and culture, understanding flowed naturally through smiles, gestures, and shared purpose. Many expressed a sense of ease and freedom seldom found in ordinary life — the joy of belonging to a living, breathing family grounded in kindness, cooperation, and simplicity.
The event proved to be one of the most successful programs we have ever hosted, earning heartfelt appreciation and high ratings from all participants. Many shared that the three-day experience left a lasting impression — a sense of renewal, inner peace, and genuine human connection. Below are some reflections participants offered after taking part in the event:
Reflections from Kunga (Participant from Nepal) Kunga rated his experience 10 out of 10. He shared that he particularly loved the group activities, finding deep meaning and happiness in participating as part of the collective community. His favorite activities included gardening, weeding, campfire gatherings, home games, cultural dance, singing, and making dumplings together. He also praised the members for being kind, respectful, and open-minded, and expressed his appreciation for the environment and the food, noting that everything was prepared naturally and with care.
Kunga, who is the head of a Tibetan monastery in India, mentioned that he hopes to send two to three of his students to Lifechanyuan to learn Mandarin through daily interaction with members next year. He also invited members to visit and stay in his monastery for language and cultural exchanges. He also said that he plans to introduce this three-day experience to friends who have the opportunity to travel to Thailand.
Reflections from Senghe (Participant from Nepal) Senghe also rated his experience 10 out of 10. He highlighted the warmth and openness of the community, noting that he felt welcomed from the moment he arrived. Senghe particularly enjoyed hands-on activities — cooking together and participating in cultural exchanges — which allowed him to connect deeply with both the home and its members. He expressed gratitude for the peaceful environment and the lovingly prepared meals, saying that every moment at the Thailand Home filled him with joy, relaxation, and a profound sense of belonging. He also commented on the mutual respect, kindness, and care among the participants. Senghe’s favorite activities were making dumplings and cooking, and he mentioned that he plans to visit the Thailand Home again with friends on his next trip to Thailand. He had shared the videos and pictures with his friends, Many showed interest in joining us if there is one next time.
Reflection from Soma (Participant from Portugal) Soma rated his experience 9 out of 10.
He expressed that he took away valuable insights into the Lifechanyuan Home Model and how daily life can be lived in harmony with community principles. He described the people living in the community as kind, open-minded, respectful, generous, and joyful. Soma particularly enjoyed the collective activities, noting that the shared experiences were engaging, meaningful, and fun. He plans to invite his friends to visit and experience the Lifechanyuan Home Model firsthand. Soma also offered personal testimony for the coordinators, highlighting the efforts of Xilian and Yangle. He noted their dedication and care in ensuring the event ran smoothly — coordinating activities, translating, clarifying instructions, and assisting both guests and members. Despite the challenges of organizing such a multi-faceted program, they managed each task seamlessly with love and attention, ensuring that everyone could fully enjoy and benefit from the experience.
For future improvements, Soma suggested incorporating more hands-on activities and shortening lecture sessions, which could be replaced with videos or interactive exercises. He also proposed adding sharing circles for participants to discuss personal challenges and inner experiences, as well as creative activities such as blindfolded dance exercises.
Reflections from Sundol (Participant from Mongolia, currently residing in Japan) Sundol rated her experience 9 out of 10. She particularly enjoyed hearing the members’ personal testimonies, which helped her gain a deeper understanding of the community and the Lifechanyuan Home Model. She observed that everyone in the home truly enjoys their lives and felt inspired by the sense of joy and harmony around her.
Sundol also appreciated hands-on activities such as gardening, weeding, community games, and the campfire gatherings. She especially liked how the food is harvested from the garden and prepared in the community kitchen, noting that it is both healthy and nourishing.
Despite language differences — as most members speak limited English — she felt welcomed and supported, as members made every effort to communicate in ways she could understand. She admired the equality, mutual respect, and self-management within the community: people pursue activities they enjoy rather than acting out of obligation, and they manage their own time responsibly.
Sundol found the three-day experience to be a meaningful introduction for new members and said she would enthusiastically recommend the program to her friends.
Reflections from Miceal (Participant from China,) Micheal rated his experience 10 out of 10, describing the overall event as excellent. He noted the thoughtful effort and careful organization by Yangle and Xilian, highlighting that both the food and program were well planned and executed.
He appreciated the warmth and kindness of the community members and observed that the active involvement of everyone clearly reflected the positive impact of the community concept on their lives. Micheal also commented that the introduction of the community’s values and way of life was in-depth, detailed, and easy to understand.
He particularly enjoyed the games, collective activities, and the campfire gatherings, all of which enhanced his sense of connection and belonging within the Lifechanyuan Home.
In Conclusion The Lifechanyuan Thailand Home 3-Day Living Experience was a resounding success, demonstrating the transformative power of communal living rooted in harmony, respect, and shared purpose. Across these three days, participants not only observed but actively lived the principles of the Lifechanyuan Home Model — experiencing firsthand how daily life can be filled with joy, collaboration, and connection to both nature and one another.
Through shared meals, collective work, cultural exchanges, and simple moments of reflection, participants discovered a sense of ease, freedom, and belonging seldom found in ordinary life.
The heartfelt feedback from all participants — spanning Nepal, Portugal, Mongolia, and China — highlights the universal appeal and impact of the Lifechanyuan approach, transcending differences in language, culture, and background.
This event also reaffirmed the value of community as a living, breathing system of care, cooperation, and mutual growth. It fostered meaningful connections between members and guests, strengthened bonds, and inspired a renewed appreciation for a lifestyle grounded in kindness, simplicity, and mindful engagement.
Looking ahead, the Thailand Home is committed to continuing these immersive programs, welcoming new seekers, and cultivating environments where every individual can experience the joy of living fully, authentically, and in harmony with others. The success of this three-day experience reminds us that the essence of Lifechanyuan is not merely a model of living, but a pathway to inner peace, human connection, and a more compassionate world.
